languages and dialects are spoken in the Philippines. These languages and
dialects belong to the Malayo-Polynesian group of the Austronesian language
family. The most widely spoken are Tagalog, Cebuano, Ilocano, Hiligaynon,
Bicol, Waray-Waray, Pampangan, Pangasinan, and Maranao.
