Surfing, if you are a pro surfer visiting the Beach in the months of September to October, expect to come out of one of the world’s most perfect waves. At least ten times.
If you are a beginner in surfing, take note of the swell season and come during the summer for easy takeoffs and less intimidating rides.
Here is Puraran’s swell schedule:
March to August: Good for novice, beginners, intermediate, advanced and pro.
September to October: Peak season for Majestic waves. Good for advanced and professional surfers only.
November to February: Onshore winds take over. Not advisable for surfing. (Windsurfing can be an option.)
Chect this out: Rocky Point, Moning Point, and Kuripdas Spot in Virac.
Trekking, the best view of the island isn’t anywhere near the beach. Take an hour’s climb up Balacay Point and partake in the masterpiece scence of Puraran’s shoreline amidst the silhouette of pristine islands. Dont forget to bring camera to take lots of pictures, spread out a picnic blanket, meditate, and be relieved of all worries as you listen along to the tune of untainted nature. Interesting one bring a pair of binoculars with you and watch groups buffalo on the water (locally known at the carabao) rest and refill at a watering hole a few meters away from the point.
Waterfalls Tour, take the jump off into a pool of clear and soothing fresh water at the feet of Maribina Falls. Situated less than 30 minutes away from the Puraran Beach, this all-natural falls is a good place to unwind after another epic surf session.
Snorkeling, also recommend taking a boat expedition around Puraran Bay’s neighboring islets so you may marvel at the virgin coral formations rich in marine life.
Other places you must see like antique Bato Church, the PAGASA Weather Radar Station, or to the Twin Rock Resort. Don’t forget to try out the natural tide pools or go cave exploring in more adventure-filled spots nearby.
