What are 2nd Engineer documentary requirements for Certification?



Reference: STCW Circular No. 2014-11, STCW Circular No. 2015-03STCW Advisory No. 2015-21STCW Advisory No. 2015-24
  1. Accomplished Second Engineer Certification Form
  2. Proof of successful completion of approved MLCE, or its approved alternative(s)
  3. Assessment of competence in Medical First Aid
  4. Assessment of competence in Advance Fire fighting
  5. Assessment of competence in Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boat other than
    fast rescue boat
  6. Assessment of competence in Basic Training
  7. Practical Assessment
  8. Theoretical examination result
  9. Approved seagoing service on ships of 750 kW propulsion power or more:
    • Not less than 12 as OIC – EW on ships of 750 kW propulsion power or more; OR
    • Not less than 12 month as OIC – EW or assistant engineer officer (any officer position
      lower than 2nd Engineer) on ships of 750 kW propulsion power or more; or 36 months
      as OIC – EW or assistant engineer officer on ships between 100 kW and 750 kW propulsion
      power.
  10. Valid Medical Certificate, which shall not be more than 2 years from the date of issuance,
    from DOH-Accredited Clinic/Hospital with QSS in place, in accordance
    with Regulation I/9 of the STCW Convention;
