What are OIC-EW documentary requirements for certification?



Reference: STCW Circular No. 2014-09, STCW Circular No. 2015-03STCW Advisory No. 2015-21STCW Advisory No. 2015-24
  1. Accomplished OIC-EW Certification Form
  2. Theoretical examination result
  3. Practical Assessment
  4. Assessment of competence in Basic Training
  5. Assessment of competence in Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boat other than fast rescue boat
  6. Assessment of competence in Advance Fire fighting
  7. Assessment of competence in Medical First Aid
  8. ERS with ERRM
  9. Proof of successful completion in High-voltage installations
  10. Proof of successful completion in Control Engineering
  11. Approved seagoing service on ships of 750 kW propulsion power or more:
  12. Not less than 12 months as part of an approved education and training program, as Engineer Cadet, Engineer Apprentice, or otherwise as a trainee for certification as OIC-EW;OR
    1. Not less than 36 months in the engineering department;
    2. Valid Medical Certificate, which shall not be more than 2 years from the date of issuance, from DOH-accredited clinic/hospital with QSS in place, in accordance with Regulation I/9 of the STCW Convention;
  13. Transcript of Records with S.O. Number, from an accredited MHEI, as proof of successful completion of the approved education and training program that meets the standard of competence specified in Section A-II/1 of the STCW Code, or as otherwise approved by the Administration.
